Summertime Testing Night in Argentina

Testing Night is the go-to space for free HIV testing, education, and open conversations with experts.

AHF Argentina successfully hosted its eighth HIV Testing Night, bringing free, rapid, and confidential testing to 22 cities across 12 provinces.

This signature event is designed to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and make HIV testing more accessible to communities, with over 400 people tested in a single night. As part of a broader strategy to engage the public during the peak summer season, the initiative continues to expand each year, offering a unique opportunity to simultaneously provide testing, information, and support across multiple regions of the country.

Participants engage in discussions, receiving expert guidance on HIV prevention and treatment.

Individuals testing positive are immediately linked to care, ensuring timely support and treatment.

Marching for Change: AHF in the 40th Kingdom Day Parade

The Los Angeles Kingdom Day Parade, originally set for January, was postponed to Feb. 17 due to wildfires.

AHF joined the 40th Kingdom Day Parade in South Los Angeles on Feb. 17, an annual event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebrating this year’s theme of “Peace and Unity,” the parade drew crowds of cheering spectators as AHF’s float boldly displayed the message “Racism is a Public Health Issue,” highlighting our ongoing commitment to social justice and advocacy.

More than 50 AHF advocates, including members of the Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC), marched alongside the float, spreading awareness of the intersection between racism and health disparities.

In addition to our role in the parade, AHF was honored with the MLK, Jr. Social Justice Award last month, recognizing the organization’s tireless work in social justice. The award, presented by The King Center, is the highest recognition given to organizations advancing Dr. King’s legacy.

This year’s participation marks AHF’s 10th appearance at the Kingdom Day Parade.

AHF advocates march with signs honoring the lives lost and impacted by mass shootings across the U.S.

AHF Kenya Advocates Mobilize for Health Awareness

Community advocates in Kenya distribute condoms, sanitary pads, and information within the community.

In the heart of Mathare, AHF Kenya’s Community Power Voices (CPVs) launched a series of outreach initiatives to raise awareness about the newly opened AHF Mathare Medical Center Wellness Clinic. CPVs took to the streets, visiting local youth gathering spots—known as baze—to distribute condoms, sanitary pads, and vital health information while actively engaging the community.

CPVs work with the community, spreading awareness about AHF’s Wellness Center.

This mobilization kicked off on Jan. 17 and will continue every Friday for three months, ensuring sustained engagement and education.

AHF Kenya and other AHF country teams in Africa are fostering long-term impact through the Community Power Voices initiative. The program amplifies the community's role in advocacy by empowering local advocates to bridge the gap between healthcare services and the community while strengthening AHF’s commitment to health education, empowerment, and accessible care for every Mathare resident.

AHF's Initiative Resumes Care for Hundreds in São Paulo

The AHF Brazil team boosts retention of care for people living with HIV at Emílio Ribas Hospital.

AHF Brazil’s “Linkage and Retention of People Living with HIV and AIDS” initiative at the Emílio Ribas Outpatient Clinic successfully reconnected 77% of clients who had interrupted their treatment between May 2023 and January 2025. Through this research and intervention project, AHF has fostered stronger bonds with clients, offering targeted outreach and raising awareness to ensure they return to consistent medical care.

The collaboration between AHF and Emílio Ribas Hospital has been impactful, identifying 423 individuals who had stopped their treatment, with 326 successfully returning to care. AHF’s dedicated team, which includes doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals, reaches out to those patients, providing critical support and facilitating their re-entry into care.
