Community Voices Lead Health Awareness in Uganda
CPV focused on high-risk areas like Kamwokya, a densely populated urban community with limited access to health education.
In response to the rising cases of mpox and Ebola, AHF Uganda mobilized its Community Power Voices (CPV) initiative to raise awareness and strengthen prevention efforts at the grassroots level. Through door-to-door engagements, small group discussions, and the distribution of educational materials, CPV worked to ensure that vital health information reached community members, especially those most at risk.
Advocates collaborated closely with local leaders and health workers to ensure
that all information shared was accurate and aligned with national health guidelines.
Beyond addressing mpox and Ebola, CPV also promoted AHF Kitante Wellness Center's services, encouraging local residents to take charge of their health through free HIV and other STI screenings.

Flyers were posted throughout the community with the signs and symptoms of mpox and Ebola.

AHF Uganda and other country teams in Africa are fostering long-term impact through the CPV program, which amplifies the community's role in advocacy by empowering local advocates to bridge the gap between healthcare
services and the community.
