AHF teams around the world raised their voices to urge European Union (EU) leaders to stand with the Global South in supporting fair and transparent rules during negotiations on the Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing (PABS) Annex.
Through coordinated press conferences, published articles, meetings with embassies and parliamentarians, and widespread social media engagement, advocates worked to push for stronger commitments to equitable health access in future pandemic responses. |

|
The PABS Annex, a key component of the broader pandemic agreement, was designed to establish how pathogen samples and data are shared and how resulting benefits—such as vaccines, diagnostics, and treatments—are distributed.
Throughout the negotiations, AHF and collaborating partners emphasized the importance of binding provisions to ensure that lifesaving tools are shared fairly, particularly with lower-income countries. |
