Celebrating Black History Month

In conclusion of Black History Month and in observance of it, AHF would like to highlight one of our Affinity Group organizations, the Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC), and applaud their work fighting HIV/AIDS in the African American community.

BLACC Hosts NBA All-Star Weekend Event

In partnership with the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, BLACC hosted a special brunch event created by black women for black women. Guests Cookie Johnson, LaDeia Joyce, and Tracy Jones led talks on leading holistic lifestyles, self-love, and building sisterhood.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Wellness in February with BLACC and SPARK

BLACC teamed up with AHF Affinity Group, SPARK, to host a wellness event at the AHF Fitness Center in Hollywood, Ca. Dynamic sessions taught attendees how to exercise to reduce anxiety, increase liveliness, and heighten self-awareness.

Through partnerships with Black American influencers and health advocates, BLACC hosts and sponsors events that educate the community on safer-sex practices, while providing FREE rapid HIV testing.

Because Black Americans are disproportionately affected by HIV, BLACC aims to bridge the gap between the African American community and the resources available to them that prevent HIV.

To learn more about BLACC and keep up with their community activations, follow them on Twitter @BLACC_AHF.
